That special day came when the photographer would be there for pictures --for a newspaper ad about our program. Vicky would be there and was still working through her personal grief after loosing her husband a year or so ago. This would work --I thought. But when we were going across the field at a walk, then slow trot --for the pictures, Vicky just took off with my horse Soni. My Lyncho thought this was great because Soni was 'his girl' and he loved her dearly. BUT --Vicky did not have any idea what she was doing --other than at a walk --or slow jog. She took off as best she could, and I was really concerned, because My Horse was wanting to take after her. He was ready to Marry his woman [Soni] anyway, but Vicky just kept going, as I tried to just slow down My Lyncho, a stallion. Soni is his mare --he thought! It could have been real tricky --and it still was..
When we got back to the barn --after getting the pictures taken, Vicky said something like :
"That was such a freeing feeling
--GALLOPING ACROSS THOSE FIELDS. I felt FREE!"
#1 --It wasn't a gallop. #2. She did express her TRUE FEELINGS --that were just was so ready to come out! It truely was a wonderful way for her to get all that grief out of her, however I was concerned she might fall with all that bouncing and anxiety she was carrying, yet she did hang on. A daring move on her part for her emotional freedom, with my concerns. Thankfully it all worked out and her grief --was relieved! And, I DO love that photo. THANK YOU VICKY!
