PRIDE --in Progress

~~~<2009>~~~
We have had plenty of hard work to do, and teen participation as volunteer has been gratefully appreciated.
1.)   The challenge is ahead --to clear the woods in the background.
2.)  Four to six huge piles of limbs etc. had to be eliminated.
 3.) Gathering troups.
4.)  Grass now grows where woods previously stood, allowing for more riding area and grazing.
The rider is Kate --who is learning body balance and confidence.
See the arena being prepared in the back left of this photo!
5.)  Clearing brush for the new riding arena!
6.)  We used the timbers to build a walking bridge across the creek.
Notice the cleared area in the background, all --thanks to the guys!   A Great Job!
We later found we must raise the bridge because the heavy rains shifted the bridge.
7.)  Now we know how high it must be --so it can be completed before spring.
YEP! This is why the bridge shifted!
That IS the same bridge that was to be ABOVE the creek! A huge downpour, so NOW we know!
8.)  Meanwhile, we got the base for the arena started.
15-20 loads of shale were added to give us a better riding area --being 60' x 120'. This should do fine.
9.)  It is now November 2009, and the weather has held us up on painting.
However, we have much less to do this spring!
We have also added another horse stall or two, just in case we do get the next two horses we need.
YES!   2009 has been VERY BUSY!
Shall we see you --this coming spring!  It is all starting to come together!
